2023 Turkey & Syria Earthquake Appeal
On Monday 6 February, an initial 7.8 magnitude earthquake rocked southern Turkey close to the border with northern Syria. Nine hours later, a second 7.5 magnitude earthquake struck with aftershocks following.
The Situation
To date more than 11,000 people have died with the death toll rising, scores of thousands are injured and it is estimated that 23 million people will be affected. The weather is very cold right now with snowstorms adding to the challenges.
The Needs
There are many needs right now, and we would encourage you to give generously to support the affected by these earthquakes as it is not possible to send goods directly to this area at the moment.
